The fragmented life of the surrealist, poet, songwriter and eccentric, Ivor Cutler.

I haven't seen him since the bend in the river where the blind men fall in.
Where do they come from? why do they fall in? He didn't know.

My introduction to Ivor Cutler, in the early 70s, in my early teens on the way home from school,
was spotting an LP disc in the middle of a busy town centre road
at peril from cars, buses, and lorries...

I took a chance to run across and rescue it.

No sleeve or inner sleeve, just a badly scratched and soiled disc

Took it home, cleaned it up, and played it on our family's old valve radiogram...

.. and was transfixed...

My memory is a bit buggered now, but I think it was probably "Who Tore Your Trousers?"
