Neil Kinnock a career politician, a puffed up wind bag and the political equivalent of Toad of Toad hall.Kinnock was a failed leader who has been sticking his snout in the European gravy train for many years, he is a puppet of the Establishment, and like all puppets is now doing their bidding, feel free to discuss

No need to discuss. You've nailed it.

Can't agree more, but on the other hand, I can't accept singling out just one of them and ignoring the rest.
Blair has just been universally condemned for instigating Britain's involvement in a war that was avoidable and which has caused the deaths of millions of people and will continue to d so for the foreseeable future.
It's the system that's wrong, not the individuals who take advantage of it.
British politics has long ceased being a commitment to an ideal.

Meant to say
Nor is it fair to single out Europe - British politics breeds time servers and careerists with the best of them, probably far in excess to Europe, where representatives are far more answerable than are Westminster politicians.

Kinnock and his ilk were one of the reasons that "Brexit" triumphed in the referendum.

How do you square that with a remain stance?.......Oh sorry I forgot you were going to reform the whole shambolic organisation in your own image!    Well cheer up we saved you the bother!!   :0)

"Kinnock and his ilk were one of the reasons that "Brexit" triumphed in the referendum."
In your mind maybe, his name was never mentioned in the campaign and it has not been given a reason by anybody
You're making it up (again)
Do you have any actual evidence for this claim - no - thought not!!
The campaign was fought exclusively on immigration - even the economists though Britain should stay and events have proved them right

Would you prefer another Michael Foot?

Or do we have one now?

I mentioned him Carroll - As an example of the unelectable and unaccountable farce that the EU Commission is - also as an example of the "benefits" system that drive and preserve the EU bureaucratic gravy train for the chosen few.

"I mentioned him Carroll"
Kinnock's name at no time surfaced during the official Brexit campaign, which is what I was referring to - your meglomania may led you to believe you were an essential part of that campaign - you weren't - apart from your unpleasantly arrogant behaviour here, the world doesn't know you exist
Your continued loutish behaviour makes any point you might have to make totally unworthy of comment
If you can't behave like an adult, you have no place on a social forum discussion
Grow up, you ***** thug

Well Kinnock's name wouldn't turn up in the "Official" Brexit Campaign would it, as the Kinnocks had long since scarpered with their EU pensions and tax deals to lift the sinecure salaries for their presence/non-presence in the House of Lords - nice work if you can get it (by political appointment) mind you, you have to grapple awfully hard with your so-called deeply held socialist political ideals to draw the pay, still political ideals are soon overcome when balanced against £300 or £150 per day just for sitting in a seat and doing what the Party Whip tells you.

"Well Kinnock's name wouldn't turn up in the "Official" Brexit Campaign would it,
The why did your right-wing extremist friend give it as a reason Brexit won - eejit?
Kinnock does no more nor less than any other self-serving careerist politician who now represents our democratic voice - wonder if his ducks live in a palace claimed for on expenses?
What a pair of tossers

Kinnocks Income - Daily Mail

Kinnocks income , initially horrified then I thought what is the going rate for this kind of work? I thought maybe Teribus will know.

The Daily Mail does good hatchet jobs on opponents and their families but it doesn't give comparisons against the "troughing" of Chris Patten over the same period or Leon Brittan over a period of roughly twice the length of the two others purely as examples of UK commissioners from around the same era.
The article also doesn't give a breakdown of the 10m ballpark figure so I ask myself, why? I.m sure it would have provided a breakdown and comparison if it was to its advantage.
Conclusion - Typical Daily Mail rhetoric with no attempt at context in a feeble attempt to influence people to vote Brexit

Kenny B,

There are a number of politicians both Conservative and Labour whose finances should be thoroughly investigated.

For Labour I would like to see both the Kinnock and Blair investigated and audited.

For the Conservative Party, although the candidates you mention both warrant investigation, before anyone else I'd like to know where Ted Heath got his money from - Ted Heath was the traitor who lied to the British Public when he sold us on the idea of a trading partnership called the Common Market knowing full well of the underlying plans for ever closer political union and the creation of a Federal Europe.

Maybe there should be a third section on Mudcat other than Music and BS.
My suggestion is "Recipes" and we all might find the recipe for financial gravy and All of us without exception could get a place on the gravy train.

Personally I would spend mine on shares in Martin Lowden and Gibson etc . We can but dream.

But seriously I like to see both sides of a case.
In a previous life I had to present multiple costed cases for any project along with pros and cons of both cases so although I enjoy a bit of character assassination I appreciate the kind of context you don't see in the Daily Mail from which this thread was obviously influenced.

Please believe me Kenny B, I was highly sceptical of messers Heath, Kinnock and Blair long before any comment was made in any UK Newspaper.

Everybody should view what ever is under discussion from as many perspectives as are represented in whatever event is being discussed - trouble is few do - particularly here.

The trouble with the Daily Mail is that I can get a free copy of it as long as I spend at least five quid at Waitrose and use my MyWaitrose card. I also get a free cappuccino and money off my spuds, cherry tomatoes and pancetta. I could get a free Guardian instead of the Mail, but I already get The Guardian at home. Shit. Still, I always pick up a Mail as I wish to see how the bigots live, so no loss.

Not hard to spend a fiver at Waitrose, by the way. One bottle of their Fruity and Mellow Spanish, plus a box of their sundried tomato nibbles, and you're home, dry and happy. Should there be two of you, you may need two bottles.

Dear GSS
You didn't give a reference to where u got your info for your allegation
BTW I'm not a Neil Kinnock Fan
You also didn't give comparisons with the other many other MEPs or MPs of the UK and Irish parliaments and their incomes.

Since your allegation hasn't gone the way you expected what kind of comments did u expect?

Entertain us?
