Didn't someone postulate a few years back that Taylor guitars were generally preferred by people who played in Church? Are ther still using the "Ikea" style joints on the neck/head?

On a separate matter, who dreamed up the acronym PMT for a music shop!

It's a good name for a shop that sells Taylor guitars - Pre-Musical Tension.

Taylor have brought the art of CNC guitar manufacture to a fine art, virtually guaranteeing that, up to a certain price level, every one will sound and play exactly like its neighbour. With little variation, and little character, in my opinion. The very high end guitars can play very well indeed.

Not for me but, as they say, if it plays OK for you, and it feels OK for you, then it's OK!

.....or, as a luthier friend of mine once said about Taylor guitars, "they aint got no soul".

Think I'll stick with my three Santa Cruz!

I've had two Santa Cruz's, a Breedlove, a Fylde, and five Taylors (still have three) over the years. I would be the last to say one brand is better than all. It's a matter of preference. When guitar lust strikes it's generally how the guitar plays, how the notes ring out (I like the sustaining tones). Also, how it sounds out front. My favorite Taylor is still a K14c with Cedar top and Koa wood. It about played itself in 1998. I still have it, finish cracks and dings and all. It predates a lot of their on board electronics, so I had a highlander stand alone internal mic put in awhile ago. If you put my name in youtube I do have a channel and you can hear how they sound.
