Festivals and 'superfans'

This struck me as interesting because of the similarities between the folk and pop scenes:

Most of the people who post here about festivals (me included) are "superfans" by their criteria.

A survey of 504 people is not really a large enough sample to make any meaningful statements from though Jack. Consider that something like 135,000 people attend Glastonbury.

Thanks for the article, Jack. It sounds like the folk-festival scene is doing all right.

I don't share their view that superfans are "driving the market". They are only 28% of the audience. They spend about 581 pounds per year on festivals? That's about the price of one fancy weekend.
