Kodachrome is still one of the best tunes ever!

Happy Birthday Paul. Graceland, one of the best albums ever. Has given us wonderful music.

Debatable whether Paul will get to see our posts, but, that aside, Happy Birthday Paul. In the 60s (pre Sound of Silence), I 'chaperoned' Paul several times from Liverpool St. station to Chelmsford in darkest Essex so he could play at the Chelmsford Folk Club. So Paul, if you do read this, do you remember those train journeys & our 'dangling conversations'?
Thanks for teaching me the 'clawhammer' pick.
Hoping you have the happiest of days,
                                                                      Nigel.

Nigel, I think I just had a jealousy stroke.

Also, why might he not "get to" read of our adoration?

This past Sunday, in Cleveland the Beachland Ballroom had a tribute to Paul Simon with some of the best of the local perfomers showcasing their favorite song/s. Beachland is more rock & pop, though folk gets in ever'so often. Some friends of mine were among the acoustic performers & thought it was a great time. I sorry I had another gig that I love (playing for dancers) that night that prevented me from attending.

"Matt Harmon has assembled a group of area musicians to pay tribute to the songs of Paul Simon. This retrospective concert honors the iconic artist's 75th birthday. Joining Matt are Emily Keener, Charlie Mosbrook, Kate Kooser, Shawn and Shelby, Chayla Hope and Red Brick Rhoades. Each of these acts will perform their interpretations of songs spanning nearly 60 years of Simon's legendary repertoire.

The show will build to a celebratory conclusion, with Matt and surprise vocalists leading a stellar band through a powerful set. The band includes Cleveland jazz scene favorite, Joe Hunter on keys, the extraordinary Anthony Taddeo on drums. High demand bassist Kevin Johnson, Anthony Taddeo of Mo Mojo on electric guitar and Jim Cirillo on sax.

Joanne in Cleveland (who spent ALOT of time in the 70s learning how to play Bridge Over Troubled Water on electric Organ)

Mrrzy, please don't be jealous, I just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Paul & I are both 'vertically challenged' & our 'dangling conversations' uncovered many shared experiences, due directly to that fact. I hope Mr.Simon does get to read of our adoration...it's always possible he might be a lurker or even a contributor with an impenetrable username. Wouldn't that be something?

I hope so. Long may he remain unmasked, in that case.

And I'll try to be a paler shade of green.

You can work on your paler shade of green as you're homeward bound, but don't forget to pick up Kathy, she lives near Bleecker Street (-: (-:
