Bill Leader as Crossword Puzzle Answer!

Down here in sunny Melbourne, Australia, one of our two local daily newspapers - the "smart" one, The Age - has a general knowledge crossword every Saturday.

This week's 9 Down clue was "Which English record producer is associated with the folk revival of the 1960s and 1970s and produced records for Davey Graham, John Renbourn and Frank Harte? (6)"

Not sure many Melburnians got that one without resorting to Google, but maybe I'm wrong.

Bill's Wikipedia entry is headed "Bill Leader (born 1929) is an English recording engineer and record producer. He is particularly associated with the British folk music revival of the 1960s and 1970s, producing records by Paddy Tunney, Davey Graham, Bert Jansch, John Renbourn, Frank Harte and many others."

Suspect the compiler had "LEADER" as a word that fitted, and trolled the web for an unusual disambiguation....

Notwithstanding, it's a welcome shout-out.

I was more than surprised a few years ago while watching the BBC quiz show "Eggheads" to hear the questioner ask "What does the Roud Index catalogue?" I don't know if Steve Roud was aware of such fame! (I think that the contestants went for the wrong answer, opting for "Operas" rather than "Folk Songs".)
