Lyr Req: Home Again (Sampson) - Cape Breton song

Subject: `home again` cape breton song

I had heard a song this summer at a restaurant on the cabot trail. The song was `Home Again` and it was written by a person whose last name is Sampson ( not Gordie). I have since found the song on you tube and wrote down the lyrics like we used to do before the internet (play, pause, write it down, and then repeat)and figured out the chords. I have since lost the song due to a computer crash and now I cannot even find it on the net. Can anyone help with either a link to the song or the lyrics.

Here's "Home Again" performed by Eric Sampson from his album "There for Me" (2009):

Thanks Jim, but not the one I was looking for. This one was written by Arnold Sampson. I heard it played by Cyril MacPhee.

Well, this was more pleasant than transcribing that Eric Sampson song would have been!

I found a recording at YouTube of John Ferguson singing "Home Again" which he says was written by Arnold Sampson. I had a little difficulty with the last verse, and I couldn't get one of the place names. I hope you can fix the uncertainties.

HOME AGAIN
As sung by John Ferguson

1. I left my home in the Maritimes some twenty years ago.
I went to work in a diamond mine in the land of ice and snow.
The cold it seemed would never end, it made me quite contrary.
I saddled up an old John Deere and rode across the prairie.

CHORUS: Singin' over the causeway up to the Margaree,
Singin' "Song for the Mira" with a lassie on my knee.
I'll shout from Kellys Mountain right clear across Bras d'Or,
I'm home again and I'll never leave this island anymore.

2. Well, the work was hard; those cattle yards required special training,
So to the west coast I did go where everyday it was raining;
And in the fog one day I said: "I had enough of this.
I'm headin' home to the Maritimes to the place I dearly miss."

3. In [Ocheeo?] I learned some things I never needed knowing.
In Sudbury, the nickel town, it never would stop snowing.
Of Calgary and Edmonton, I think I've seen the last.
It's hard to find a lobster in that land of oil and gas.

4. We sing about this land of ours it goes from [coast to coast?]
But don't forget where you can find the friendliest of folks.
There's laughter and some songs to sing and you can [short on wine? share our wine?]
So come on home; I'll [show for you?] right here in the Maritimes.

3. In old T.O. [i.e., Toronto] ....

4. ["short on wine", etc. I think John makes a mistake here - notice the slightest grimace - fudges a word or two, and lands on 'wine', which is presumably the correct word, so - anybody's guess!]
