So sad to hear of the passing of 'me old mate' Bruce Scott. We spent many great times together and I have such wonderful memories of him. I lived with Dot and himself in Tower Hill in Kirkby in the sixties.
He was a true 'character' and a great singer. He'll be sadly missed!

Sorry to hear about Bruce - what a pair he and Barry Halpin made.
Sympathies to Dot and family.

Only met Bruce a few times, normally at the Keith Summers gatherings in London. A fine singer, every word as clear as can be, but a lovely Merseyide accent in conversation- condolences to his lovely missus...

I always remember Bruce as singing with a gesticulating fist, as well as a fine voice. Top bloke.

I am very saddened sorry to hear Bruce has passed away, I knew him well and admired him greatly, sincere condolences to Dot and all of his family.
He bravely fought serious illness for years yet still managed to compose and entertain with his superb style.

Just got back from holiday terribly jetlagged to be given the sad news of Bruce's death.
All the years I knew Bruce Scott before I discovered he was a musical genius. What a man, one of Kirkby's finest. He will be missed by many but his songs will live on.

I saw the obituary for Bruce in The Guardian today.
What great memories I have of him and many others from Towerhill back in the day.
Deepest condolences to Dot and family.
A great character, and a great loss

Here is a link to the excellent Guardian obituary writtent by Greg Quiery:Bruce Scott Obituary

There will be a memorial night for Scotty at the Liverpool Irish Centre on Friday 10 February 2017. I believe tickets are selling quickly, but anyone interested should contact the Centre on 0151 263 1808.

Thank you Matthew for the link, I couldn't make the memorial night in St Mick's but attended Bruce's funeral and the after funeral celebration of his life and achievements, his wife Dot, his children and his grandchildren are a credit to him and the enthusiasm his grandkids showed to Irish music and Irish dancing that day are a testament that the Scott name will live on in the Liverpool/Irish community.

Fondly remembered from boozy nights at Liverpool Irish Centre.
Always remember the passion he put into his singing , an amazingly strong voice , a massive presence. R.I.P.
