One song our father, Michael McCabe, sang was 'I'll be up with the lark in the morning'. It went:
Sleepy head I used to be called each morning by my dad But my sleepy days are over and to them I've said goodbye Soon I'll be in clover and here's the reason why I'll be up with the lark in the morning with a song in my heart as I roam I'll be up with the lark in the morning on my way to home sweet home. We were trying to get a copy of someone singing it to add to our collection but could not find even a reference to the song anywhere. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you |

Funnily enough in our conversations about the past the 'Black and White Minstrel Show' came up and we remarked that while it is not an 'appropriate' show for today, we just enjoyed the songs and the show. |
