Tony iommi the guitarist in black sabbath had wanted to give something back to his home town . He is friends with the dean of the cathedral and he sent her the music . The end product is based on a psalm and as well as the choir , there is cello , acoustic and electric guitar which is played sensitively . There was no stated religious impulse on the part of tony , though he and his wife were very appreciative for prayer offered during a health scare . It is available on line.

Lyrics (inspired by Psalm 133)
How good, oh how good…
How good it is
Where friendship dwells
How good it is
When kindred live
In peace and love
How good it is
When strangers meet
And find a home
How good it is, so good….
This is home, this is home...
Our city, God's city, our home….
So good, so good, together, so good…

Music by Tony Iommi

Performed by Tony Iommi (guitar) with
Birmingham Cathedral Choir,
directed by Marcus Huxley,
George Shilling (cello),
David Hardie (organ)
Choral arrangement by Paul Leddington Wright.
Engineered, edited and mastered by Mike Exeter.
Choir produced by Gary Cole.

Thanks for filling in the details . Though the choir sounded great , I had trouble discerning the lyrics.

Yes, I had the same problem. If a song is written to send a message, it's pointless to sing it so that people cannot understand the words.

It would certainly help if the words were more clearly heard , but at least they were available . The psalm utilised was chosen to give expression to the mostly good relations in Birminghams diverse community . Certainly the tune and performance sounds harmonious

Lovely sound, but a video, rather than a static photo, might have enhanced it further.
