BS: welcome home from holiday Keith A

Subject: BS: welcome home from holiday Keith A
From: keberoxu

Well, I wanted to welcome Keith A from Hertford back "home (mudcat)" after his well-deserved holiday voyage.
But I read carefully the discussion thread on which Keith is active, where he posted a message stating that he gets extremely annoyed when people post to a discussion thread about a topic outside the discussion, like his recent travels.

So I hope I am doing this politely and in a way that gives offense to no-one whosoever. Knowing me, though, I will probably offend somebody.

Anyway, Keith and Mary, I have kept you both in my thoughts and prayers while you were away, and I want to say it is good to see you back and active on the forum. Welcome home.

I feared that a thread about Keith would be like waving a red flag at his stalker(s)......I was right.

Now! Now! No need to get territorial.

There is room on this thread for shaggy dogs and alley cats and overweight boars/bores alike.
After all, if you can put up with me,
you can put up with anybody.

grunt. snort.

I realize I am a little bit late in starting this thread.
Keith A of Hertford and his wife have been home from their trip for a while already.
It's just that I only found that out today.

Posts were exchange wishing Keith bon voyage on earlier threads of course.

I dunno. Lots of people go on holiday, and most come back. Is it appropriate (or interesting) to start a thread for all or most or even some of them?
That being said, welcome back, Keith.

My grandad came back from Dunkirk... errmm.. if that counts as a holiday abroad.... 😜

What a lovely surprise.
Thanks keberoxu.
Good wishes for a holiday, or a welcome home, is not the same as a group ganging together to swamp a thread with trivia because they feel they are losing, so I would have been just as delighted wherever this appeared.

keberoxu knows that Mary and I have had some nasty health issues to deal with lately, and has been following our progress with kind thoughts and good wishes.
Thank you again.
keith.

It was entirely spontaneous, Keith. There's more than one way to skin a cat.

I think the Cat would be happier without your spontaneous skinning activities.

It wasn't that cat on the Specsavers ad, was it? Which is on YouTube if you haven't seen it and are desperate for a laugh!

.. as long as we're not forced to sit and view anyone's holiday snaps..

It was bad enough when projectors, screens and slide film were so expensive and limited the amount of photos..
even instamatics & polaroids weren't that cheap...

but these days with effin near infinite capacity digital phone and tablet cameras....!!!!!! 😩

Another factor in my decision to open this thread.
Christmas Eve 2016 was the most recent post on Keith A's thread, Chemotherapy, on which he first disclosed that he had booked this trip following his release from hospital.
I could have chosen to post to that thread, which is still open, as there is no shortage of well-wishing posts there. Perhaps I ought to have done?
However, it seemed more optimistic to let that thread alone, with all its talk of the cancer treatments and the side effects, and to begin a thread with a positive slant on what Keith and Mary can do with the time remaining to them during this long struggle with health issues.

Hoping that the time remaining is, indeed, quality time for you. You will have our thoughts and prayers throughout.

Keith has my thoughts and all my good wishes, as I've told him before in a private message and which I'm happy to reiterate now, but he will most assuredly not have my prayers. Cheers.

Odd. Looked in briefly earlier and I could have sworn I saw a post from Greg!

Whilst I wish Keith, along with everyone else bar none, a long and happy life, I also hope that Keith has happened on some genuine educational experiences during his time away, preferably of the kind that removes blinkers and restores a sense of humility towards minorities.

Best wishes from me to Keith and Mary. Hope your holiday went well and gave a real boost to your health.
This is a lovely thread, and good wishes/positive thoughts are always a great idea, no matter what the circumstances.
Whenever we get home from a trip, we're so typical, as all we can think about is getting that kettle on, getting out our huge ungenteel builders' mugs and making a gorgeous, strong cup of tea!

Actually sooner than that.
As is posted on a separate thread,
the surgery was moved up to 20 April, so has already happened.
Keep Keith A in your thoughts and prayers.

Sorry to be a pest.

Just double-checked.
Keith A's last post was 19 April which makes excellent good sense.
He's doing what he has to do. Don't forget about him, that's all.
