05 Apr 17 - 08:19 AM (#3848775) Subject: Songs for 'Hootenanny' set ???? From: MickyMan I'm putting together a "Hootenanny" set to be sung in senior centers here in the USA/CT. I need song suggestions from the early 60s, when crossover "folk songs" were true mainstream "hits". Nothing obscure. I'm hoping to get people in their 70s and 80s to sing along ... etc. Any ideas, Mudcatters? |

Surprisingly, a lot of seniors know Country Roads. We always get requests for Side By Side and My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean. This Little Light of Mine gets a lot of people singing along. |

At this point, I think it would be best to keep to the early 60s songs that would show up on the classic "hootenanny" folk songs from that era. Keep 'em coming, fellow folkies! |
