10 May 17 - 10:51 AM (#3854237) Subject: How to search for 78rpm recordings From: Gabriel My uncle (Matt Scally of Ballycastle, Co Antrim, Ireland) made some recordings of Irish songs many years ago. One of them, 'The Old Lammas Fair', was in a BBC LP vinyl record of songs of the British Isles and is easily found. He apparently made other recordings, including 'Eileen Og' and 'Come back Paddy Reilly to Ballyjamesduff' that came out on 78rpm records. I've used Discogs to find vinyl but I can't find ways of searching for 78s. Does anyone have any advice? |

They don't appear to have the recordings but they can point you towards other sources, discographies or other collections. |

A union catalog of Library and University collections can be accessed at WORLDCAT.ORG. And of course, the online sale and auction sites as well as record collector lists such as 78-L, 78-c, and ARSC list. Thomas. |
