I went to the Mandolin Tab ABC converter but then I didn't know how to add the midi file here. I just listened to it again. It sounds sort of French to me or maybe Canadian or something, so given my past attempts at guessing tune origins, it's probably from somewhere totally unrelated. LOL Helen |

The tune reminds me of some of the tunes used with limberjack dolls, which I checked out on YouTube a while back. Suggest trying to find them via Google to ask them to listen.... tho this is their annual Folk College season so you might get lost in their email till summer. They're also on FB. |

If my memory serves me right the tune comes from an album of immigrant Ukrainian folk musicians recorded in the USA in the first quarter of the 20th Century. They were possibly Library of Congress recordings. I remember exuberance, fun and quirky timing. Does this help? |
