He recorded an album of folk songs for Folkways, John A Lomax Jr. Folkways American Folksings Was one of the contributors to the legendary album of bawdy songs "The Unexpurgated Folksongs of Men" compiled by Mack McCormick and was an important figure on the Houston TX folk scene.. His son, John III has uncovered a stash of tapes of him singing and providing background information about the songs. A selection has been issued recently on CD.
