In verse 6, "I wonder if we've got..."" In verse 7, I hear "broke up a marriage" I hear "Lady Restless Broadway Strip Joint," but I can't verify that. Another thing about that area, is that it was hard to tell whether the strippers were male or female.... I'll email Debby McClatchy and see if she has any corrections. She knows these things. She says that later things got weird and kinky in an effort to keep the customers coming. She thinks the Lady Wrestlers must have come in that later era. I think my first visit to North Beach was on my honeymoon in 1971 - we went to a female impersonation show at Finoccio's. I think the folk music era of North Beach was more in the early 1960s. -Joe- |
