Programme or App for Whitby Folk Week?

The Whitby Folk Week site says that the2017 Programmes or Apps are now available http://whitbyfolk.co.uk/programme-app-now-available

Has anyone used the app and what are its advantages and drawbacks?
Does it give directions to venues or just display a map?
can you download it to all smart phones or only Apple iphones?

I tried downloading the app but so far it fails on my phone - crashes almost instantly on launch. Great idea if it ever works, but I'm not counting on it getting fixed this year.

(I'm deliberately not saying what kind of phone I have - an app should just work on any device that can download it).

Give them a bit of credit. There is only one person working on it, and it seems that if it works for you, it is genuinely an improvement on the paper version. At least you won't have that insane rigmarole of sending a stamped addressed envelope to get a copy.

Yes Jack Campin, it is a great idea but it sounds as if it needs to be better- I am fishing out some stamps and envelopes which make it ridiculously expensive on top of the £5 purchase price. Thanks for telling us about download problems and you are right - "an app should just work on any device that can download it" "

The postage would be less if the programme was in the format it existed in for almost 50 years.

And you could actually read it.

Does the programme no longer come inclusive with a season ticket?

Thanks to a friend who said he had downloaded it, I took a look: the link was a long way down the page on Facebook, but has since been pinned at top of page for easier access (at my suggestion!)
It re-directs you to the Whitby FW website but, and again I mentioned this, only refers to Android and Apple PHONES. I took a punt on trying the Apple link to download it to my iPad and it worked - eventually, after updating my credit card expiry date! Cost me £3.99.
Now wondering if, being an old-fashioned soul, I shall still need/want a paper copy I can pepper with highlighter pen, but they tell me you can "star" any items of particular interest to you.....and maybe, still to come...if you have a particular instrument interest, there will be a way of segregating that, Whoooo!

According to my season ticket receipt it does.

I prefer a paper copy as it will last the festival without needing to be recharged.
