Good going, very assured picking.

If I were to make one criticism – hopefully a constructive one – it would be that I think your singing voice is perhaps just a little too in thrall to the singers you love at the moment. I reckon that you could admit a little more of your own voice in there - your singing voice currently sounds very Bob Dylan/Woody Guthrie to me.

Hi Mathew - well done. To be honest, your version is more you than Davy Graham, which is all to the good.

Davy's use of the bass line (which he showed me back in the '60s, and which you can hear on the "Folk, Blues & Beyond" album) is very specific, and worth a listen. I created some tablature for it, which you can get from my website: Cocaine Blues

and you can see it in action on YouTube here: Will Fly tablatures - C

I don't sing it on the video - just play the tune with some variations which you may or may not find interesting - and you have your own style, which is important. :-)

cannot see any resemblance to davy graham, here is a fine version from dave van ronk, as i understand it he is responsible for the interesting chord progression in his version.
however your version is enjoyable, here is dave van ronks
