Very sad to hear of the passing of Irish musician and producer Eamonn Campbell.

He played for a long time as a much loved and respected member of The Dubliners, a fine musician and renowned record producer, he very clearly loved playing with the Dubs.

RIP Eamonn.

Very sorry to hear the news. I met him a few times at festivals and concerts. My abiding memory of him though, was his amazing impersonation of Elvis Presley performed in the bar of Acton's Hotel in Kinsale sometime in the mid-1970s. Close your eyes and listen it was perfect then open your eyes and look and you damn near split your sides laughing - especially when it came to his line - "I'm on drugs {Sniff} I'm all fucked up".

A valued member of the Dubliners for a number of years. Sorry to read he's gone.

Some lovely stuff he did accompanying John Sheahan too: check out "Marino Casino", one of John's tunes, on YouTube.

Eamonn always seemed to me the one who enjoyed the live performances more than anyone else in the band!

I've just learned that Eamonn Campbell of the Dubliners passed away last month, but his passing doesn't seem to have been marked here.

Apologies - I looked again and found that it was posted by Dave Hanson on October 19th.
Anyway, here's his Wikipedia entry.
