Hello all;
I'm new here and finding some amazingly rare and hard to find songs here. Great site! I am particularly interested in Rosalie Sorrels music and have found lyrics to be very scarce, so I have been listening and transcribing lyrics for her songs and adding in chords for my own benefit. I know this place strives for authenticity so I won't bother putting them on here, but I have uploaded (8 so far) of her songs elsewhere. Right now I am stuck on lyrics to Some Other Place Some Other Time. At 1:54 into the song the lyrics are: "I can show you, all the colors, on a white bird ____ _____, double rainbows" Anybody able to fill in the blanks there?   Thanks for your help!

If anyone is interested here's the link for what I've got so far: https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/artist/rosalie_sorrels_128469

After listening to this song over and over, on the 892nd time I finally figured it out. Although it sounds more like wheeling through, but that makes no sense, I went with weaving through. And unless someone can prove me wrong, that's the way it will stay.

Here's how I think I hear it; I have marked a couple of doubtful places:

SOME OTHER PLACE, SOME OTHER TIME
As recorded by Rosalie Sorrels on "If I Could Be the Rain" (1967)

1. Why do you stand so far away
So cool, unfriendly(?), like you were some distant kin?
Why don't you open up the door just once,
Just once and let me in?
And I can tell you secrets that have always been
Only mine.
Not this time baby? Well then maybe
Some other place, some other time.

2. I'd like just once to look into
The darkest corners in the shadows of your eyes.
I wish I could go with you
On the cloud trails where a soul(?) flies.
Come eat my pleasant fruits and drink with me
One glass of wine.
Not this time baby? Well then maybe
Some other place, some other time.

Mm, I can show you all the colors on a white bird wheeling through a double rainbow,
And the colors in the ring around the moon,
And sing you songs you never heard before,
But time is getting short; we'll have to make it soon.

[Repeat verse 1]

- - -
Verse 1, line 2: I'm not sure "cool, unfriendly" is correct; it might be "cool and friendly."
Verse 2, line 4: I have inserted "a soul" so it would make sense, but it sounds more like "a thole," which makes no sense to me.

I had a problem with cool,unfriendly/cool and friendly too. I went with and friendly because "like a distant kin" probably wouldn't be unfriendly. My logic anyway.

pretty sure this is right; I wish I could go with you
On the cloud trails where your soul flys.

Wheeling through a double rainbow sounds like what she is singing, but from the only audio I could hear it on, which was in that youtube link, it almost sounds like the record skips or there's dirt in the groove at that spot. I listened to that countless times and ended up going with weaving instead of wheeling. I suppose a bird could be described as wheeling but weaving seemed more like a birds flight so that is what I went with.

And I'm sure Ms Sorrels adlibed through songs during her career and she would probably be ok with either wheeling or weaving.
And at least now, right or wrong, that song is preserved for anyone searching for her songs. That sounds sorta sacrilegious on a site like this that strives for authenticity, (That's why I didn't post it on here) but it and several other (9 now with 2 more waiting approval) of her songs are out there now.

I appreciate you getting back with me on this.
