Anybody know the third verse of "Hi-Heel Sneakers" -- the one only Tommy Tucker seems to sing?

I'm posting lyrics from one of "those" Websites as a start, and we can edit in the additional verse once we put it together.

"High Heel Sneakers"
(Buddy Guy version - originally recorded by Tommy Tucker)

HI-HEEL SNEAKERS
(Robert Higginbotham)

Put on your red dress baby, honey we're goin' out tonight.
Put on your red dress baby, honey we're goin' out tonight.
Want you to wear your boxin' gloves in case some fool might want to fight.

Put on your high heel sneakers, throw that wig hat on your head.
Put on your high heel sneakers, throw that wig hat on your head.
Honey I know you're gonna get real high, honey I know you're gonna knock 'em dead.

Want you to talk to me baby, mama and hold me tight,
Keep on holdin me baby, until you hold me just right
Put on your high-red dress mama, wear your wig-hat on your head
I want you to hold your head kinda high because I know you're gonna knock 'em dead

Put on your white boots baby, pull 'em up on your legs so high
Put on your white boots baby, pull 'em up on your legs so high
I want you to look real good, you better even hide your thigh

Lord I want you to call my name this morning, call it sort of sweet and low
And make me think little darling, Lord I'm on the third floor!
Put on your high heel sneakers, wear that wig hat on your head
I want you to raise your dress real high because I know you're gonna knock 'em dead

Raise your window woman, raise it soft and slow
See your man down there could be
You may not don't know, anh-uh
Girl I ain't going out that do'
Oh, I see your man downstairs--
Look like your man, how do I know?
Could be yo' man, how do I know?

Put on your red dress baby, wear that wig hat on your head.
Put on that red dress baby, wear that wig hat on your head.
Want you to cock your forty five, in case some fool might want to fight.
Oh I know you're gonna get real high, oh I know you're gonna knock 'em dead.
I know you're gonna get real high, I know you're gonna knock 'em dead.

"I'm posting lyrics from one of "those" Websites as a start, and we can edit in the additional verse once we put it together."

Joe, your source posts that version as the Buddy Guy version. It's quite different throughout from the youtube 4:04 version of the original performed by Tommy Tucker [Robert Higginbotham, the composer]--the one with the virtually unintelligible and never covered 3rd (and final) verse.

I don't know how that information would go into the database, but such a popular, hard-to-decipher, easy-to-improvise-on song must have a plethora of other added and altered verses (maybe some added and performed by Tucker himself)--the folk process with a vengeance. It's like trying to chase down a 1920s blues, but with a much ampler recording history.

(Thanks, keberoxu)

Here's the putative Tommy Tucker version with the Old Crow liquor 3rd verse, not the final, as a thought, but followed by a repriseof the 1st.

Tommy Tucker - Hi Heeled Sneakers 1964 Version Lyrics

HI-HEEL SNEAKERS
(Robert Higginbotham)

Put on your red dress, baby
Lord, we're goin' out tonight
Put on your red dress, baby
Lord, we're goin' out tonight
Better wear some boxin' gloves
In case some fool might wanna fight

Put on your high-heel sneakers
Wear your wig-hat on your head
Put on your high-heel sneakers
Wear your wig-hat on your head
I'm pretty sure now, baby
Lord knows you know you're gonna knock 'em dead

I've got my Old Crow liquor
And my paycheck in my hand
Got my Old Crow liquor
I've got my paycheck in my hand
Big John's bootleg whiskey cost much more than I can stand

Put on your high-heel sneakers
Wear your wig-hat on your head
Put on your high-heel sneakers
Wear your wig-hat on your head
Though you're real high
I'm pretty sure you're gonna knock 'em dead

Hi, Jackaroodave -
I listened to the Tommy Tucker recording and made a few slight changes to the lyrics you posted (Old Crow liquor and my paycheck). I think that makes a pretty accurate transcription of the Tommy Tucker version.
-Joe-

OK, so we covered hi-heel sneakers. Now, I have to admit that I've always wondered what a wig-hat is. Is it just a wig, or is it augmented?

I think that the Stones' British R & B version is much better than Tommy Tucker's.

I think I learned this song from the Rolling Stones version. No doubt, it's a good 'un:

Ahem,

Here is the mobile link to dozens of covers. It's just a youtube search for "Hi heel sneakers" but if you keep clicking the "add more" link at the bottom of the page, you'll get more than .you'd ever want.

I confess, Janis Joplin's live medley of Amazing Grace and H-HS didn't live up to my expctations.

One comment on the Searchers' version said, "One of their best." I suspect that's true of a lot of the artists. It's a hard song to mess up, though it's an even harder one to do justice to.
