The late Oscar Brand recorded (at least twice) a song about skiers returning to town after a big weekend, with a host of injuries, but with enthusiasm undampened; he variously titled it "Back to Town" or "Play It on the Big Bass Drum" (the latter is the last line of the chorus). The version on his SNOW JOB album is surprisingly nicely arranged (compared to the sound of some of the BAWDY SONGS albums anyway).

I'm sure I once heard him say, either in concert or on the radio, that he borrowed the tune from an old French anthem, but if he mentioned the title of the original, I sure don't remember it. Does anyone have any clues as to what that original might be or where I might find it?

Odd; it comes up just fine for me on three different browsers.
Could regional or national issues be involved?
