22 Mar 18 - 05:30 PM (#3912557) Subject: New Roots and Americana night in York From: GUEST,Joe G Not sure if anyone else here is from York or nearby but I thought I'd mention a new monthly night I'm involved in running at the Winning Post in York (with occasional nights at other venues) The regular night is the first Tuesday of every month and we'll be featuring a range of artists from the UK, USA, Canada & Australia - primarily focusing on performances of original songs. There are more details here and on our Facebook Page & Group page. The next gig is Port Cities at the Basement, City Screen on 31st March https://greenchillimusic.com/green-chilli-roots |

23 Mar 18 - 04:59 PM (#3912765) Subject: RE: New Roots and Americana night in York From: GUEST,Joe G No problem Tim - I thought that may have been the reason! We moved from Bradford (where I had put a fair few gigs on over the years) to York over a year ago and when a local musician (Dan Webster) wanted help in promoting things I couldn't resist.... We live just up the road from the Chocolate Factory (now very expensive flats) and the Winning Post and it will be nice to walk to gigs I am involved in rather than having to drive :-) |

24 Mar 18 - 03:45 AM (#3912836) Subject: RE: New Roots and Americana night in York From: GUEST,Joe G Nope - it was the original and best Bradford in Yorkshire, England. Home of the oldest continuously running folk club in the world, the Topic. Spent 34 happy years in the city but retired to York for the thriving music scene and pubs. :-) |
