Here you go:

"You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say will be misquoted and then used against you."
--A Bumper Sticker

"We may live without poetry, music and art;
We may live without conscience, and live without heart;
We may live without friends; we may live without books;
But civilised man cannot live without cooks."
--Bulwer-Lytton

"We are all born mad. Some remain so."
--Samuel Beckett

Look Meebo....We need to talk. Now I like ya' lad.....even took up for your scrawny ass over on that thread where you completely trashed Ed Pellow. But if you're going to aspire to the lofty heights of "Eccentric Assholism" you have got to stop making these mistakes.

First note that "Quote" is singular and you have three quoteS listed. Two of the quotes are pablum and one is lower case eccentric. How can an eccentric asshole be disparaging without material? Get with it boy!!!

Second, when you encounter humorless people, don't apologize. They'll still be pissed no matter what you say in your efforts to explain yourself. They probably think you're bullshitting them anyway. Two wrongs don't make a right, but three do, especially if they're lefts. They will feel self righteous and still leave in a huff...probably a light green 4 door with rusted quarter panels. Huff has always had a problem with rust-out on the 4 door models.

Continue to work on it and I'll keep checking up on you.

Spaw

'Spaw, one quote is never enough...I usually do three to give the folks more bang for the buck...and for the more discerning quote lover, Bulwer-Lytton's complete name is Baron Edward George Earle Lytton Bulwer-Lytton. And how about "QuoteS for the Day"? Is that better?

And two or three wrongs make an Ancient Rite, as the druids used to say!

Embo, you have arrived. You are now an official member of the gang of 12, having suffered the initiation rite of submitting to a Catspaw shit-bath. Welcome, youngster (the only younger twelver is Cleigh, and he'll never advance beyond the status of mascot--holy, exalted mascot, certainly, but once a mascot always a mascot. Sorry, Bonnie--oh, I forgot. You didn't know--the gang of 12 usually uses 17 layers of security codes to hide its nefarious deliberations. And...aw, shit. They're gonna kick me out of the gang of 12 for whistleblowing, unintended though it was...)

Spaw, you made me laugh and laugh, till my eyes watered!

Mbo-good quotes. I may even be able to remember and tell'em to somebody in the next 5 minutes. (After that I run out of memory.)

Spaw is right about apologizing too much for a minor faux paw. (Didja get it?) Once is an apology, after that it's kissing ass. If you still feel guilty, send the chocolate chip cookies to me, Priority mail, so they'll arrive fresh!

Thank you dear Mary. And its always easy to make a social worker laugh because to do the job, you have the intuitive belief in MY quote of the day from Lord Byron (George Gordon):

"If I laugh at any mortal thing, tis that I may not weep."

I can't agree about living without books no matter who said it but as another social worker, I'll agree with Spaw,100 %.

BTW, have you heard the one about " How many social workers does it take to change a light bulb?" Give in, eh? Well, none but it takes 12 to get together and write a paper on the socio-economic implications of child rearing in the dark.

Thanks, Spaw. Tis better to laugh than to cry OR to get the shitbath. So please, keep me laughing

The difference between a social worker and a Rottweiler is that you can gete your child back from a Rottweiler.

As my mother used to say, Catspaw is the kind of person who wouldn't go into the Ark because he can't swim.
