Or go to bbc's mudcat resources, also in Quick Links, and see if there is an email address for the person in there (whichn there is for me.)
Anyway, I am glad you like this song, which I found in an anthology about Christmas published in 1928. I'll sing it into the co puter and send it to you as an email attachment. But not tonight, because it's past midnight now for me. But here is a rough translation for now.
D'ou viens-tu, bergere,
Qu'as tu vu, bergere,
Rien de plus bergere,
Rien de plus bergere,
Where have you come from, shepherdess?
What did you see, shepherdess?
Nothing more shepherdess?
Nothing more shepherdess?
Nothing more, shepherdess? I love the picture of St Joseph shivering in the cold, and the cattle with their warm breath. Makes it real. and the three little angels. |
