A song just came into my head and cant find it on YouTube or Google

My recollection of it comes from the Billy cotton bandshow era on steam radio

Chorus is roughly
"ive been thrown out of better joints than this x2
Ive been insulted by far better men
So it wont hurt my feelings if you throw me out again"

Better better than beeter !

Look up "Paramor."
There was a producer by that name
and he may have had the copyright on this title.

An online search pulled up something I could only look at in a "snippet"
on Google Books. It was an issue of Gramophone magazine
and it pulled up a paragraph from a review.
The Gramophone review title-checks the song
"I've been thrown out of better places than this"
calling it "very crude." No mention of author credit.

But they do mention that a vocal GROUP sings it,
accompanied by a small ensemble of musicians
led by one Pasquale Troise,
he of Troise and his Mandoliers. Mostly worked in England
although he was born in Italy. Died before 1960.

Keberoxu... thanks ....got that link and the writer composer but I don't think anyone has put it on youtube or posted the lyrics anywhere

I try and get a link to Roy Hudd who had an encyclopedic memory for those sort of things. Hes the right age to ask if he still has all his faculties

From: Jim Dixon

This is one of those newfangled "country" songs with a raucous beat that sounds like what head-banging rock 'n' roll used to sound like.

I'VE BEEN THROWN OUT (OF BETTER PLACES THAN THIS)
As recorded by Chas Collins on "That's What She Said" (2017)

1. Bartender woke me up and said: "Last call."
Right then and there it started it all.
I took a little time to finish my drink.
I had too many beers and fell off the seat.
The bartender grabbed me up and threw me out.
Standing on the street I started to shout:

CHORUS: I've been thrown out of better places than this.
Joe's Bar and Grill had to put me on the list.
Uptown, downtown, Taj Mahal,
Believe me when I tell you they done it all.
I've been thrown out of better places than this.

2. Driving all day, time to call it quits,
Sporting Levi's jeans and checking into the Ritz:
"I'm sorry, sir; we got no room for you,
'Specially with that redneck attitude."
They grabbed my bags and threw 'em out to the curb.
That's when I told them something they'd never heard:

CHORUS: I've been thrown out of better places than this.
Yeah, the Trump Hotel had to put me on the list.
Uptown, downtown, Taj Mahal,
Believe me when I tell you they done it all.
I've been thrown out of better places than this.

My girl's making me sleep outside
'Cause I didn't come home last night.
I tell you, girl, that'll be alright.

CHORUS: 'Cause I've been thrown out of better places than this.
You see, my ex-wife has got a house much bigger than this.
Yeah, kicked out, runned out, called the law,
Believe me when I tell you she's done it all.
I've been thrown out of better places than this.

Yeah, girl, I've been thrown out of better places than this.

SPOKEN: Yeah, I'll just take it on down the road.

You can hear this on YouTube:

BETTER PLACES THAN THIS
(Mike Geiger / Mike Huffman / Woody Mullis)
As recorded by Tracy Byrd on "Different Things" (2006)

1. "You ain't gotta go home but you can't stay here."
I hear what you're sayin', buddy; you're comin' in clear.
I've had too much and you've had enough of me.
Well, bein' asked to leave, an' bein' shown the door
Ain't nowhere I ain't never been before.
Just one more thing I wanta say before I get up an' leave:

CHORUS: I've been thrown out of better places than this.
I know where to go and I know what to kiss.
I've heard it all before from my sweet angel's lips
In that little piece o' heaven where I used to live.
Now, there's a place that a man could miss.
I've been thrown out of better places than this.

2. Keep your old cold shoulder and your lukewarm beer.
Yeah, I've seen enough; I'm outta here.
Pour me just one more and I'll be on my way.
I'm dreamin' of perfume she wore in her hair,
And all you got is stale cigarette smoke hangin' in the air,
So adios! au revoir! Mañana!—whatever they say.

Hey! CHORUS

I haven't lost anything here I can't live without.
Can't you see everything's already gone that I've ever cared about?

CHORUS

Yeah, I've been thrown out of better places than this.

SPOKEN: Yeah, I'm leavin'.
Get your hands off me!
Yeah, I know where the door is.
Y'all might wanta clean this place up a little bit.

They have :-
Title : I've Been Thrown Out of Better Joints Than This.
Author : Milt Holloway
Date : 1953

So, theres a copy available!!

This is more jazzy/bluesy. Also on YouTube.

BETTER PLACES THAN THIS
(Douglass Richardson)
As recorded by Colte Wolfe on "Colte Wolfe" (2010)

[In] my old screened(?) jeans and my beat-up boots
[I] stagger to the bar to get a belly o' booze.
The man at the door says: "Don't be long."
I got to have a tie and a suit-coat on.
I push my way through cause it's a challenge that I can't resist,
But it ain't too long; he grabbed me by the arm,
You know, but I've been thrown out of better places than this.

I pick myself up and pour myself toward home.
I'm already late; I should 'a' found a phone.
I pull into the drive and take a look around.
Well, everything I own is layin' on the ground.
She comes out a-hollerin' an' tellin' me that this is it.
As I'm a-pickin' up my stuff, she says she's had enough.
You know, but I've been thrown out of better places than this.

Still I make money on a bender.
I sure do ... the workin' hung over.
The boss man told me not to waste his time
And I was headed for the unemployment line.
I told him what I thought, and then I showed the man my fist.
Security was called and as they drug me down the hall,
I said: "I've been thrown out of better places than this.
I've been thrown out of better places than this.
I've been thrown out of better places than this."

Thanks Jim Dixon and Anglogeezer

I've emailed a request to the British Library about being pointed in the right direction to find out where I can get a copy.

I might even try local auctioneers who have piano stools for sale in the hope I might find it inside
