BS: Lost another friend

In my small town like many small towns we had our resident hobo. Tom was homeless but homeless by choice. He was mid 60 s a true hippie in every sense but just a gentle soul. He loved music and always sat on the bench listening to me playing and writing songs in the park. His kids grew up all successful and after his wife dumped him twenty years ago he would just do his own thing and write his poetry. People here all loved the guy and loved talking with him as he was very smart and talented. Just followed his own path. Last night while crossing the street in the middle of town in the crosswalk an eighty year old driver on oxygen and medication ran him over and killed him while he left McDonalds. Very sad he was a friend and I will miss him very much

Always the good souls isn’t it. Dang don’t know what happened with the driver if they arrested him or just said accident. I feel bad for him also. Oh tommy was 69

Wish everyone could have met him. He would never take a money handout said it corrupts. He told me everything he needed was in his notebook of poetry and his nap sack. The local church would have a place in the basement in winter if he needed it but he just loved freedom and life and said possessions corrupt a soul. Just a warm happy person

You have my deepest sympathy, Dan. I know your grief must be worse because it is mixed with anger. Such a stupid thing for that person on oxygen to do -- to kill someone when they shouldn't even be driving.
