Sometimes you picture me, I'm walking too far ahead You're calling to me, I can't hear what you've said Then you say, "Go slow." I fall behind The second hand unwinds [Chorus] If you're lost, you can look and you will find me Time after time If you fall, I will catch you, I'll be waiting Time after time If you're lost, you can look and you will find me Time after time If you fall, I will catch you, I'll be waiting Time after time |

14 May 18 - 03:26 AM (#3924253) Subject: RE: BS: Cyndi Lauper From: Allan Conn I am with you Ranger. Good songwriter and performer. She may not have the normal diva type pop voice but that is no bad thing! She can still get the crowd going too. This was from Hootenany several years back https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Msh84E5Qak |

14 May 18 - 09:08 AM (#3924332) Subject: RE: Cyndi Lauper From: Jeri This gets stuck in my head: "Fearless" When she started to sing "At Last" on the TV show Bones I thought it would be a mess, but that lady has pipes! And she plays dulcimer. (It's on the first song linked) Moved to the music side of things. |
14 May 18 - 09:42 AM (#3924342) Subject: RE: Cyndi Lauper From: GUEST,Greg F. For those who like her performance on "Bones" have a listen to her whole CD by the same name. Absolutely wonderful. |
14 May 18 - 10:13 AM (#3924345) Subject: RE: Cyndi Lauper From: Stilly River Sage After that Bones performance I spent time looking up more of her performances; I was probably one of many reminded afresh of her vocal talents. |
14 May 18 - 02:19 PM (#3924433) Subject: RE: Cyndi Lauper From: keberoxu One of the few times I sat through Celebrity Apprentice was when Cyndi Lauper was one of the contestants. She was a trouper and more than held up her end. Unlike one fellow who got drunk and crashed on a sofa, who must not be named. However, from the beginning, the corporate favorite was the late Joan Rivers. She and the Donald, I must say, were two of a kind. I cheered Cyndi on, anyhow. Now she turns up -- as she did last night on network television -- in an advertisement for a medication for a form of psoriasis. |
14 May 18 - 07:13 PM (#3924494) Subject: RE: Cyndi Lauper From: Stilly River Sage I suspect she is doing that only because they are paying her a lot of money and because she believes it works. She doesn't strike me as someone who suffers foolish advertisements gladly. And she has been keeping herself busy with theatrical activities like Kinky Boots. |

18 May 18 - 02:02 PM (#3925540) Subject: RE: Cyndi L per From: robomatic She is a wonderful singer with some great songs and a good singing voice but I also enjoy her speaking voice, the high feminine New York accent which reminds me of so many of my eastern relations (the feminine ones). |
18 May 18 - 03:36 PM (#3925554) Subject: RE: Cyndi Lauper From: GUEST,Greg F. HEY!! Get outa here!!! Dat ain't no Noo Yawk accent- dats western Queens County - next to and virtually a BROOKLYN acent, God bless her. She's one of the few tradition bearers left preserving a dying language. You Go, Girl!! |
19 May 18 - 01:49 PM (#3925742) Subject: RE: Cyndi Lauper From: GUEST,Clive Pownceby It's unfortunate that the first hit kind of tagged her with an airhead image - she is anything but. Have always liked her and I turn in an a cappella reading of 'Sally's Pigeons' from time to time. An astute woman and one of two I'd like to have dinner, or maybe just a few beers with! |
