BS: the soul of America...

The soul of America is dieing. Richard Goodwin 86 was a poet and wrote the speeches for JFK, RFK and LBJ.
The lofty anti bigotry and grand ideals of America has lost its poetic voice.

In its place we have secret enemy lists being assembled

I know inside info on the business of assembling this list of civil servants not loyal to Trump.
This new normal is a travesty and invisible to many. It is preceding rapidly.
A poet dies and a nation does not know who or what they have lost. America's soul has had a silent heart attack. The new normal is a crippling symptom of an impending transition into a dark age.
The trade of democracy for loyalty to a figure who grants stand alone freedom is happening although it is hard to look at, it is harder to talk about. A patriot does not mean what it used to mean.

Donuel what you really mean is that the President is fighting back against those that would try to engineer a coup against him and the resulting publicity is slowly going mainstream. The CIC is knocking the Administrative and Judiciary into shape. Good for him! May he continue to draining the swamp.
The Crimes Act of 1790 defined some capital offenses: treason, murder, robbery, piracy, mutiny, hostility against the United States, counterfeiting, and aiding the escape of a capital prisoner. That should get some wriggling (at the end of a rope, some would argue)

Iains has a foreign and warped POV of the kind heart and soul of America (from FDR days ven to now) in order to harm it further.

Will no one else stand for the good soul of the USA?

Who was it, Donuel, who said,
A house divided against itself cannot stand?

What unified this nation under one central power is dying, to be sure.
And thus, it is history. History has its place.
There are those, individuals and individual commonwealths,
who persist in growing and maturing in spite of the odds.
And those who succeed them in the natural way --
those who are minors now, some who are not even born yet --
will have to get to grips
with diversity and even division,
as that which began in unity, separates.

How it separates remains to be seen.
The divisions and separations are already there.
There will be more casualties yet, and more destruction.

Regardless, there will be those who survive, and,
as William Faulkner said, they will prevail.
Only, they will come together and work together, in the future,
not under one uniting central entity,
but cooperating with each other, related yet separate.

And there will be loss, grief, and trauma in getting there.

favorite Quote by William Faulkner: “The past is never dead. It's not even past.”

There are people who desire another Civil War with a different ending that will never end in the eternal now.

Culture changes slowly. in 1960 50% of Americans smoked tobbacco. Today its 15%. What is culture? Its just a collection of people who want to go along to get along. Of course there will be some who will never get along. They tend to be the criminals in the culture. Then there are trail blazers who show us the way to go along.

Richard Goodwin a voice of 3 Presidents

keb you are young but capable of great things with an appropriate education.

When the chickens come home to roost, it gets a bit messy under the perch. Deep state is turning into deep litter.

Oh! He is fighting alright. Like he does his business. By not paying for what he gets. By re-interpreting the deal once he gets what he wants.

He is confrontational where other presidents used diplomacy and guile.
Remember the slogan applied to Nixon "Would you buy a used car from this guy?" - well American politics has moved on from that. We might well ask "Would you contract for this guy?" - even his supporters would think twice, and still probably not. Just look at his face when he signs all those documents. It is the look of a reneger.

He is investigating his investigators. A sure sign he is running scared, only he sees attack as the best form of defence. A sure sign of a a man with something to hide.

I like to say,
When the crows come home to roost,
don't walk under the trees.

In the meanwhile I observe two souls of America, two siblings you might say,
who will have to learn how to agree to disagree,
and to stand together even though they are (will be) separate.

There is the mindset that wants a government which engages in every detail with its electorate,
and these are open to gun control measures, for example.

There are those who are vigilant and protective,
generous to their neighbors, devoted to their children and families,
and fiercely suspicious of any centralized government.

Both have their virtues and their defects of character,
and I don't think either one is going away, at all.
But neither one is going to convert/subdue the other.

The duality argument feels good but rarely faces scrutiny well.

The most basic argument is "NO YOU ARE"
So if people are saying you are guilty of more crimes than any President in history, he says "NO YOU ARE GUILTY OF THE BIGGEST WHICH CUNT SCANDEL IN HITLORY" or 'witch hunt scandal in history' whichever you prefer.

btw Iains' scatological posts are for the birds, but then again he is full of it.
