Looking for music for "Tune for a Found Harmonium". I have only heard a version by Sharon Shannon.

It was also recorded by Patrick Street (That's a band not a person) on their album "Irish Times".

I have 3 versions in ABC format. If you want them in that format write me and I'll send them through. Otherwise I can translate them to staff and create gifs and send them.

write me hollister@tanstaafl.net.au

I found the music on Simon Jeffes tape "Penguin Cafe Orchestra" and noticed it's been folk processed a bit in other versions I've heard. I ordered the tape from Public Radio Music Source, but I suspect our local folks will have it, too.
Looks like you wanted sheet music tho.
Try this blue clicky thing
Blessings,
Barbara

I have a harmonium, and I know I found this tune at one time on the net and printed out the sheet music. I'll do a search and post the link here if I can find it.

I found it here, Alice: ABC Tunefinder's Page, though I don't remember exactly which list. There are several versions of the tune around -- people's ears tended to simplify it and the original can be heard on Stephen Jeffis' Penguin Cafe Orchestra.
Blessings,
Barbara

Thank you Matt. The breadth of your musical interests is quite amazing, I have to admit ! Must go now and deliver the printout to my fiddler, we have to play this for a wedding nest week. Thanks again.

Looked in vain in the credits of that BBC clip for the identity of the harmonium player. The only time I saw Penguin Cafe Orchestra (early '90s, Northern College of Music, Manchester) I'm sure Simon Jeffes himself played.

Just search for the ABC and process it into sheet music.

The original is in C and E flat. You can get it down to a very small amount of notation using ABC's "P:" control construct:

T:Music For A Found Harmonium

P:ABABCDAECDABABB

L:1/8
