The translation given at the Dominican site leaves out (probably inadvertently) the phrase "Rex et legifer noster." This means, "our king and law-bearer." T.
O Emmanuel,
Rex et legifer noster,
expectatio gentium,
et Salvator earum:
veni ad salvandum nos,
Domine, Deus noster.
O Emmanuel,
[our king and law-giver]
the one awaited by the gentiles,
and their Savior:
come to save us,
Lord our God.

Is Dominican plainchanht different from Cistercian?

Really strange to hear it done by a single voice anyway.
