Words as follows: I once knew an old man who had a wooden leg. He spent all day drinking porter from a keg. I knew another old man who had no legs at all. Oh the World is surely getting small. I once knew an old one* who had a glass eye. She spent all day gazing up into the sky. I knew another old one who had no eyes at all. Oh the World is surely getting small. *i.e. an old woman Apparently Irish but beyond that I know nothing about it. I do not remember where I got it. Anyone know anything? |

I never came across any more verses than you have here. |
