Music Documentaries

I am trying to recall and source a Music Documentary series, that I saw on Australian TV, maybe (?!) 12 years ago – I cannot remember the name or the presenter! It was probably out of America, but could have been BBC I guess…..

It wasn’t merely the social history – interesting as that is – but this one seemed to explain what instrument and what musician made a particular sound and how ideas for the songs - and those often addictive / hypnotic / intriguing Riffs - actually came about.

Can anyone give some suggestions of interesting docos that take the songs and music apart for us??

Thanks in advance,

Cheers,
R-J

Not 12 years ago but it sounds like a series that Howard Goodall did for the BBC:

Thanks Guest!
I didn't think it was Howard Goodall that did the series I am trying to source, but, they are indeed interesting and I'll enjoy watching them again.
