16 Sep 18 - 07:32 PM (#3951019) Subject: BS: Time Magazine sold, others for sale From: keberoxu The Wall Street Journal article today reports on the sale of Time Magazine in the USA. Out of touch as I am, this is the first I had heard of it, but the news goes back to March of this year. The other three items in the March 2018 for-sale status are Sports Illustrated, Money, and Fortune, as in "Fortune 500" I believe. These are being sold by the same publisher responsible for People and Better Homes and Gardens, which it seems are not for sale. The Wall Street Journal article also states that Time Magazine was founded by two Yale graduates, another fact that is new to me. |

It's still a pretty good magazine, but it certainly doesn't enjoy the reputation it had in the days of Henry Luce. Time has a readership of 26 million. Its spinoff celebrity magazine, People has a circulation of 46.6 million. the Meredith Corporation bought Time, Inc., in November 2017. Now it appears that Meredith is keeping People and selling off all the other Time Inc. publications. -Joe- |

The magazine must cost almost nothing to produce, and it shows. They always wait to report on the sensational crime until other journalists have located the pictures and summed up the action. But some doctor's offices - that's all there is to read. |
