Anyone on the list influenced by the CHARLES RIVER VALLEY BOYS or
"fans" of their work???

I noticed there are some YOUTUBE clips of a 2013 regrouped performances - any information about this? are they still performing ??

In their early years (they formed as a group in 1959 for a performance
at Harvardd, and lasted until late 60's, recorded 4 albums. There
is much info about them on WIKI and other sites - google for latest
references).

Their FIRST album was issued on the UK FOLKLORE label (1962 Bringing in the Georgia Mail, compiled from recordings from WHRB and at Dick Dobell's Jazz Shop), and has been difficult to locate - I note that it has been released on a CD-R by the BRITISH ARCHIVE OF COUNTRY MUSIC (BACM) coupled with their 2nd album (recorded for MOUNT AUBURN records, re-issued on LP twice by PRESTIGE).

BACM - Charles River Valley Boys

I have one of the albums, Beatle Country, as the name suggests its Beatle songs done in a bluegrass style.

Thomas,
It is DOUG Dobell's record shop at 77 Charing Cross Road in London. Sadly like all good specialist shops no longer in existence.

I think the guys I learned that guitar off must have had those albums. Several of the songs were my early aspirational pieces.

I have the Beatle Country CD and also a 2003 Prestige/Fantasy CD entitled 'Bluegrass and Old Timey Music" - PRCD - 24280-2 comprising 2 remastered LPs.

Tracks 1 -16 were originally released as "Bluegrass and Old Timey Music" Prestige/Folklore 14017. Recorded June 1962. Produced by Paul Rothschild.

Tracks 17 - 30 were released as The Charles River Valley Boys With Tex Logan "Bluegrass Get Together" Prestige/Folklore 14024. Recorded March 1964. Produced by Sam Charters.

I bought a second had copy of Bringing in the Georgia Mail in Dobells Record shop in the early 60's. I've recently been playing some of the tunes at pub open mics. More Old Timey than Bluegrass I would have thought. Not keen on their Beatles stuff though.
