Lyr Req: Song about the Loch Ness monster

This was a folk song reminiscent of the style of say, the Wolfe Tones and I can only remember what was the last line of either the verse or the chorus, that the protagonist did various things "To prove he saw a monster walk across Loch Ness last night". I may have it a bit muddled up. Maybe it wasn't a monster, but something more comedic.

I heard this some time between 1990 and 2000.

Any help?

There's "Nessie" by the Real McKenzies but doesn't match your lyric excerpt.

This wee song by the Corries dates from 1961.
