Apart from £15 for 3 and a half pints but that is not their fault. When they first hove into view ('scuse the nauticals) I liked them a lot. On buying their 'hit' album I found it far too over produced and commercial so I was a bit concerned that I may not enjoy the show. I needn't have worried. They are back to just raucous sea songs with splendid harmonies. They now have some guitar and accordion on a few songs but that enhances rather than detracts. What is more they are a grand bunch of blokes firmly rooted in their native Cornwallian (is that right?) sea faring traditions. Ex fishermen, lifeboat men and down to earth guys with a talent for music. Great stuff. Go see 'em! |
