I recall a very ignorant RTE radio host who did a long spiel on the lines of 'is this the worst singer in the world'? and then played this track (or it may have been 'She moved through the Fair- it was years ago) - I was appalled but now realise the depth of ignorance in the commercial music world. Tell you one thing, RTE are running a poll for the 'best folksong in Ireland'- bet it won't be this one! |
