Bit harsh there, Gargoyle? Accidents do happen, after all.

That's very sad.

I saw Byron Berline in concert twice in the 70s, when he was touring with Country Gazette. An amazing talent.

Gargoyle is again living up to his reputation. Let us ignore him as usual.

Byron Berline is a brilliant musician, and this event is a tragic misfortune.

The Guthrie OK Fire Department found a fireproof safe under the rubble. Byron was there when they opened it. Among many totalled instruments was a miraculous survivor, his 1924 Lloyd Loar mandolin. There's a very moving video going around on FB of Byron slowly, almost reluctantly opening the case and then yelling in astonishment and holding it to his chest, nearly in tears. I'll try to post a link.

Yes, that is a wonderful bit of luck in the midst of this disaster. I saw another bit where they open case after priceless-guitar case and pour out water from the instruments. It's heartbreaking.
