Byron was there when they opened it. Among many totalled instruments was a miraculous survivor, his 1924 Lloyd Loar mandolin. There's a very moving video going around on FB of Byron slowly, almost reluctantly opening the case and then yelling in astonishment and holding it to his chest, nearly in tears.
