I heard it said that people on the docks in the US would ask of immigrants "How is Little Dorrit?" |

Dickens is the Shakespeare of the 19th century. I would refer to him as Saint Chuck except I already do that for the other great Charles (Darwin). |

The Globe was run by the same company that had a bear-baiting pit next door. Of which Bill would have been a shareholder. Sort of takes way some of the gloss, dunnit? |

08 Mar 19 - 11:22 AM (#3980942) Subject: RE: BS: TV: Bachelor jumps the fence From: keberoxu The answer, D the G, is that it's all in a day's work for me. For the better part of twenty-five years, my name has been attached to something which is coveted by someone else. Because of this attachment, I have been shadowed ever since. It is the reason that I don't pick up the telephone and rarely return calls; half the time I don't even bother with the messages. |

14 Mar 19 - 12:30 PM (#3982035) Subject: RE: BS: TV: Bachelor jumps the fence From: keberoxu No, I didn't watch any more Bachelor TV -- turns out I didn't have to. After lo! these many seasons/years, a Bachelor who jumps the fence was so newsworthy, that when I turned on the FM radio to hear some pop music out of Providence Rhode Island (a syndicated national network), there was the voice of Ryan Seacrest himself, describing his recent interview with said Bachelor. Seacrest was saying how refreshing it was to encounter an eligible leading man from that show who was sincere, more than a little shy about interviews, and didn't have something to sell. |
