The full moon this month
goes by a number of names.

It's the thrid of three "supermoons" this year alone.

Just found out that the full moon in March
used to be known as the Full Worm Moon.

full moon? or full worms?

Where did all this fuss about different kinds of moons come from?
We used to have just new moons, full moons, harvest moons and blue moons (and nobody bothered laboriously explaining what that meant).
Now we have wolf moons, ice moons, snow moons, blood moons, and even super wolf blood moons (or is it super blood wolf moons?).
And every other full moon seems to be announced as a super moon the like of which will not be seen again for many years.

Dunno Jos. It looked nice and bright through the skylights in the living room last night though.I think the full moon is tomorrow.

Blame Native Americans and astrophysicists Jos.

I thought a super moon was exposure of the buttocks by an obese person.

It says here -- National Geographic

that the worm moon has not occurred on the vernal equinox in 19 years.

First it was a full worm moon,
now it's a super worm moon?

with the mild winter here in the UK, I suspect the worms are ahead of the game. (see Nat Geo blickie))

Quite the reverse for the extremists that post here, one in particular.
