Looks legit to me. It's certainly all very visible; I'd be very surprised if MacColl's estate is unaware of it... quite apart from anything, it would be a rather bizarre activity for an aspiring bootlegger to engage in, given the massive amount of time it must have involved for limited returns. Plus loads of the albums on there would not fall under age-related copyright expiry anyway (70s and 80s albums). |

07 Apr 19 - 03:51 AM (#3986227) Subject: RE: Ewan MacColl on bandcamp From: Jim Carroll I understand from someone who is likely to know that the family is co=operating with it I know they had been seeing the two previously unpublished Long Harvest' albums and had located one - it seems they have now found the other (I'm delighted) Shortly after the release of the set, Ewan recorded a public talk on the Ballad which was intended as part of the project - I was in the audience Ewan and Peggy's son, Calum, was putting together a four-CD set of live performances which are held in private hands - no idea how far that project got I have two elusive albums ald a few early singles to finds and I have Ewan's entire commercial output - very impressive Jim |
