Rambling Sid Rumpo cassettes

I have two cassette tapes (remember them!) of Rambling Sid Rumpo. Official BBC tapes but no case. Anybody want them? I'm happy to post them off for free.

Cheers

Dave

Well Dave, I used to get such a kick from hearing Kenneth Williams perform as "Ramblin' Sid" and although I made several very poor reel to reel tapes of some of those BBC Light Programmes, I never was aware that Williams had made his own tapes for sale. I live in Ireland so I wouldn't want to hold you to your offer unless you enclose some connection to a charity to which I could make a donation ON YOUR BEHALF ? How does that sound ?

Perfect, Beachcomber. PM me your name and address and I will post them tomorrow. I am not fussed at all about a donation being on my behalf. Just drop a bit into your favourite charity if you are happy with them.

They were issued commercially, I can't remember whether on tape or disc, but i think they were among UK comedy greats (Goons etc) that I sent Rick Fielding during his last illness as he was a great fan.

I have a number of BBC issued CD's containing humour programmes - The Goons, Round The Horne, The Navy Lark - even early Dad's Army (I think the BBC were hoping for some kind of "Comedy Kick-back" from the TV series.)
Mr Rumpo is well represented in the Horne shows. I can't remember when I got them, but it would, I think be in the early to imd nineties.

I'm a fan of RSR. Have some of his stuff recorded off American radio in the 70s probably from Round The Horne.
If I had some original recordings I'd digitize 'em.

I was contemplating that, Robo, but I think if I were to keep a copy and then send the tapes elsewhere, I may be in breach of copyright laws.

Are these anything like "Ramblin' Sandy Pinckney" from "A Mighty Wind"?
