BS: 'wrote after his death'

Subject: miswritten, misread

I forget the category of messed-up writing to which this belongs.

Of course the biographical sound-bite writer was talking about
a friendship between two different persons,
and the writer had the best of intentions when he remarked, about
the bereavement of one person when the other person died first:

"He only wrote twenty-three poems after his death … "

poetry of Michelangelo Buonarroti

… but the sentence kind of jumped out at me
because it is so easy to misunderstand.

It's almost the same thing as decomposing!

If I was English I'd get my hat. . .

After one has died and finished decomposing once one has completely returned to the soil, one can write their post-humus memoirs....

What hath we? Rot, here?.....

Severn has been too close to death's door in recent months ...

glad to see some gallows humor here.

Puts me in mind of Jimi Hendrix
who has been dead these thirty years or something
and
albums kept coming out and coming out ...

"Charles I walked and talked Half an hour after his Head was cut off."

I thought that was St. Denis, patron of Paris.

Anyway, this thread reminds me of my dislike of the term "bucket list" = things to do before you die. Well, when else would you do them, *after*?

You probably wouldn't like the term I use for things I'd rather not be bothered with before I die. After, no problem.

I had no idea that Michelangelo wrote poetry. I can't find it on the net.

I am following you around, leeneia... Just came from that thread, with that thought.

One of my favourites was a documentary about Martin Luther. "During this time he had to go into hiding and grew a false beard."

I am pretty sure he grew a real beard. Growing a false one is difficult.
