This year's weekend of singing and picking and workshops and jam sessions and schmoozing will be held Friday evening October 4 through Monday morning October 7, at the West River Conference Center on an inlet of the Chesapeake Bay. If you've been to the Getaway before, you know what a good time it is. If you've never been, now is the time! You'll love it! The site is beautiful, the people are welcoming, and the music is wonderful. You can find lots more information about the Getaway, and an application form, at www.fsgw.org/getaway. From: Janie If coming to the 2019 Getaway, please bring something to donate to the silent auction, and also bring cash or a checkbook so that you can bid on some desired or interesting object, CD or book in the auction. The auction is a significant source of funds for the Getaway Scholarship fund. Many folks have had to avail themselves of scholarships in order to attend, me included, over the years. The Getaway would have been much poorer in fellowship and shared music if some of those folks had not been able to attend. |
