Very sorry to hear this sad news; I enjoyed the Four Fools Festivals in Chorley, and also hearing Angie sing at some of the Open Door Extravaganzas in Failsworth. Condolences to Ken, and to all her friends and family, and thanks to Dick for passing on this information.

Really sorry to hear this. Angie did so much great work promoting traditional song and music, and was a good singer herself. I have many happy memories of Redditch and Four Fools, including a ballad session with Ray Fisher, Peter Bellamy, Roy Harris, Janet Russell and Martin Carthy, which was a Dream Ticket as far as I was concerned. I hope someone can pass on our condolences to Ken.

We loved four fools as well, Angie & Ken ran a great festival. Would have given our eye teeth to be at that ballad session!

Saddening news indeed. It was always a pleasure to be invited to do some MCing and 'chance to meet' sort of things at the marvellous Four Fools fests. I've missed those in recent years after she and Ken relocated from my neck of the woods; - the warm and friendly atmosphere and the simple good cheer they both generated are things to be cherished. What happy times.

sad news indeed.
I did not know her that well . .
But the Folk Music world has lost a great Champion.
We can ill afford to loose people of her stature

Thank you so much for all the kind words from some of her many friends. We still use four.fools@virgin.net as our email address so please get in touch. I’m hoping that after the funeral on Mon 25th Nov at 11.30am in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Saltburn by the Sea, TS121DE, that after the buffet in Saltburn House, across the road from the church we can have a final Four Fools Gathering that she would have so enjoyed.

best Wishes

Ken Bladen

So sad to hear of the passing of Angie who was a good friend to me when I was merely a teenager. I met Angie in 1969 when we were hanging around the London folk clubs at that time. We shared a flat in Muswell Hill in 1970/71 when Angie started up the Capricorn folk club at The Albany, Gt Portland Street. We had some brilliant Friday evenings there all booked by Angie while I was mainly the door person. I wish I could remember what we charged - I know it wasn't much. We used to perform a couple of numbers at the start of the evening and again to kick off after the break. She was the excellent singer while I plinky plonked a few guitar chords as accompaniment in our short lived duo, Touchwood. Angie also played the organ at my wedding in 1972, a highlight of which was "Oh how I rue the day 'ere I was married".
I lost touch with Angie and Ken when they moved North and I was busy raising a family, although I tried to keep abreast of what she was up to and was sad that I never made it to the Four Fools festival.
My condolences to Ken who has been by Angie's side for so many years.
