Is this quantity or quality posting, brain droppings or a birthday retrospective? I think it is more like digital Prozac.

Harold Shipman Day could either be on the 14th for when he was born or the 13th for when he died. And he looked like an archetypal English folkie.

My grannie. Born in 189x. Boy would she be old. Never heard her sing a note nor do I remember music ever playing in their house. Yet she had been a dancer...

Someone whose "dies natalis" is NOT in January is the
Doctor of the Church,
Saint Thomas Aquinas.

He was born to eternal life during Lent.
But the Church of Rome
decided that so essential a Christian thinker
ought to have a solemnity/feast-day
that was NOT during Lent,
the better to be celebrated with due pomp and circumstance.
That's bureaucracy for you ...
so his feastday is in January.

As Jack Campin has reminded us elsewhere,

this year the birthday of Robert Burns
coincides with
the Chinese New Year,
which happens to be
the Year of the Metal Rat

(as opposed to, say,
the Year of the Fire Rooster)
