04 Jan 00 - 01:08 PM (#157871) Subject: Words at Twenty Paces, Heartaches at High Noon From: Joe Offer Hi - I was hoping I might be able to find it at the Cowpie (click) country lyrics database, but I had no luck. Maybe if you try it yourself or post a request there, you might find it. I'll send a link to this thread to our country expert. Check back here tomorrow or late tonight - note that you may have to change the number of days on the "filter" on the Forum Menu to find this thread if the last message is more than a day old. CDNOW (click) says "Words at TWENTY Paces" is on Alabama's Mountain Music CD, and on Hugh Moffatt's Loving You. Click on the CDNOW link, and you'll see there's a sound clip of the song. Click here for information on the Hugh Moffatt recording, which is on Rounder's PHILO label. -Joe Offer |

Hugh is one of those country writers who sometimes almost make it like folk music. My favorite Moffatt song was covered by Dolly Parton, "Old Flames".
