I'm trying to track down a song that's distant and fragmented in my memory. I don't know who wrote or sang it, but it went something very vaguely like this: Daybreak and the sun-up The paper hits the door The subway shakes the floor And I think about you

Chorus: It's so hard, it's so hard, it's so hard Living without you

Margaret, This is a Mary McCaslin song....Check out her web site for lyrics or I can send them along if you can't find them. "Milk truck calls the sun up, paper hits my door....etc" a depression song...

Hate to contradict harpgirl, but Living Without You is most definatly a song by Randy Newman on his live record from 1970 or thereabouts. Great record it is, too. J.

Yep, it's true - Randy Newman wrote "Living Without You". The version I'm familiar with was recorded by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band on "Uncle Charlie and His Dog Teddy", and credits Randy Newman as the songwriter.
