G'day,
Mbo has sent me several original tunes for the Mudcat MIDI site. They are in ABC format and can be found here.

Here are the titles, they are listed alphabetically on the site with the MIDIs:-

Sixers Reel
Skyehigh
Israeli Reel
Andrea's Waltz
Grandfather's Sporran
Boo's Reel
The First Thing
The Slow Drag Rag Reel

Check them out.

Cheers,
Alan

Thanks so much, Alan! Will the MIDIs of some of the tunes be put up soon too?

Hello Alan,

I'm posting here instead of a personal message because there may be others with the same problem I'm experiencing.

I can't hear the MIDI files on the Mudcat MIDI page. When I click on a song title, there is a very long file download, and I usually give up. Am I just not waiting long enough or what?

I'm anxious to hear MBO's tunes. BTW, did you realize that you left out the apostrophe in Andrea's Waltz?

Thanks,
Mary

Mary - several people have experienced the same difficulty as you. So far I think most (perhaps even all) who are having the difficulty are using MS Internet Explorer.....Alan is working on it. what do you use to browse with?

I don't know what the problem is but it is not down to browsers, I have just played the same file on IE5, Netscape 4.7 and even HotJava allowed me to save it to play late.

Last time round it was with Jeri's tunes and I think the questions regarding browsers and certain midi players were answered there.

With Jeri's tunes, it was found that the midi's that midi's that were inaccessible to some who tried to access them from Mudcat Midi, could play the same files from my web space.

I can only guess that it is an ISP problem and I feel sure that whatever the problem is, Alan and Alison will get sorted as soon as they possibly can.

G'day,
I'm very much aware of the problem. The best solution for now is to right click on the midi link & choose 'Save as' from the menu. Then you can play the file you saved. Alison has the same ISP as I do & also uses MS IE. She can play direct from the site, I can't.

There are also some people who can't even save the file. A long term solution might be to find another site.

Cheers,
Alan

G'day,
The 4 missing MIDI files (and the missing 's') are now at the Mudcat MIDI site.

Cheers,
Alan

G'day,
It seems that the new site provided by Max has solved the problem.
